JON OTIS earned his Masters degree in interior design and architectural studies in 1985 from the University of Massachusetts, and won a Fulbright fellowship to Milan, where he joined an industrial design firm, Studio De pas D'Urbino Lomazzi. After one year, in 1986, he joined legendary designer Ettore Sottsass until 1988. There, Otis worked on the Enorme phone which has since become a design icon of the 80's, as well as televisions, lighting, residential furniture, and a series of retail and showroom interiors for the Esprit de Corps clothing company in Switzer-land, Germany and Denmark. He is currently the creative director for Object, inc., an "interdisciplinary design laboratory and creative think tank".
