ALDO CIBIC was born in 1955 at Schio (Vicenza). He moved to Milan in 1979 to work with Ettore Sottsass, becoming his partner the following year, together with Matteo Thun and Marco Zanini. IIn 1989, he went out on his own, founding, together with Antonella Spiezio, Cibic & Partners, providing his personal design services for his own projects and for other companies, as well as expanding into the field of interior design and architecture projects in Italy and abroad. His major interior design projects include: Istanbul Stock Exchange, Habitat stores in Italy and the UK, new Esprit stores in Italy and Europe, the extension of Verona airport. Major design projects: Antologia by Boffi, a furniture collection, and the general collection of lamps for Habitat. He also teaches at the Domus Academy, as part of the Industrial Design degree in the Faculty of Architecture at the Milan Polytechnic and as part of the Industrial Design degree in the Faculty of Design at the University of Architecture of Venice, as well as doing research on the relationship between design and society.
