When conceiving what The Simpsons as a pen collection could be, the intent was always to base each pen on famous works of art. What became clear as these pens were released was that Homer was by far the most popular character. So this pen, "Sensitive Artist" directly parodying Roy Lichtenstein's pop-art "Crying Girl" with a crying Lisa Simpson was re-worked to focus on Homer instead. "Homey Lichtenstein" went into production and "Sensitive Artist" was only sampled, making this pen one of the most sought after ACME pens.
