Aldo Andreoli was born in Torino, an industrial city in the north of Italy, known for being the birthplace of FIAT cars factory, and more recently for organizing the winter Olympic games. Torino is also the hometown of many well known car styling companies, like Pininfarina, the designer of many Ferraris, Italdesign, who styled, among other things the Volkswagen Golf, and Bertone, very well known for the design of the famous motor scooter Lambretta. After his graduation, at the Politecnico di Torino, Aldo took a sabbatical of six months, when he traveled through North and South America, and fell in love with the new continent and its creative potential. Back in Italy he started practicing architecture and interior design in Torino. After a brief work experience in South America, Aldo moved to New York City in the early nineties, where he founded Sanba, a design-oriented development company. Starting with the renovations of 56 Thomas Street and 140 Franklin Street, both existing TriBeCa warehouse buildings converted to condominiums, Sanba was arguably the first company in New York to understand the importance of design in new developments. After the events of September 11th, Aldo moved to the serene deserts of Sedona, Arizona where he designed and built multiple single-family residences and developed a few boutique subdivisions. In 2009 Aldo returned to New York City, where has been working at the completion of multiple projects, inclusive of several re-known condominium buildings, a large photo studio complex for the fashion industry, and multiple commercial and residential projects in the area of Red Hook, Brooklyn. While understanding the need for sound structural practicality, Aldo incorporates good design fundamentals into every job. His projects balance form and function with the bold, yet elegant flair that has become his trademark. To this day Aldo's work combines what he does best: interior design, building design, and real estate development. Fine publications such as The New York Times, The New York Times Magazine, Wallpaper, and Interior Design Magazine all acknowledged his work. Aldo is a selective designer, favoring uncommon projects with limitless potential. He brings his clean and contemporary Italian influence and expertly combines it with the environment and specifics of each project, whether it is in the most stylish neighborhoods of New York City or the magnificent simplicity of the Arizona desert. Last year he created AA Studio and opened a new office in a converted mechanic garage, located in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Aldo is also currently working at residential projects in the area of Los Angeles, California.
